April's Offerings

  1. What is that stuff? Did it last through the winter and you are still eating it?

    1. The kale is the green leafy plant. We planted that March 2011. I thought it was too tough to eat in the summer and fall... but this spring it is nice and tender. There are other varieties and I think that I like Russian Kale best for texture. KALE is the most nutritious green out there. You can juice it, put it in green smoothies, eat it cooked with onions, etc...

The LEEKS were planted last summer. They didn't get enough attention - moisture, building up of the soil around their bases, etc... so they were too little to harvest. Now they are yummy and tender.
